i ain'nt deadThe main reason is that my arm is too sore or wont grip pens to do decent art. I'm training my left hand to write but we are a loooooooooooooooong way off left hand art!
and i keep forgetting to take my camera with me. You know me, i tend to decide to go someplace randomly so i get no chance to bring the camera.
BUT I have a friend over next week and i will be sure to keep the cam with me on our trails around Dublin !

As for your question... I never use the zoom when I'm taking macro shots because I find it just lessens the quality overall. Yes, if you take off the flash then you run the risk of losing details and the shot being blurred. Sometimes though flash is just too harsh so I decide to keep it off. Using lighting when flash is off is very important for clearer shots
